We all have “the” place we would like to visit. It may be a tropical paradise, our ancestor’s home country, or something else. Many of us dream about it but think it is impossible to obtain. However, it is not. You have a way to get the dream vacation if you are willing to work hard enough.
It is hard to go years without a vacation for most people, so if you must take a vacation while planning for the dream do so near your home. A vacation at home is even possible. It just takes a few dollars, some creativity, and you could create a tropical paradise at home. Another option is to drive to a nearby town for a few days at a rental cabin or hotel. This way you avoid hefty plane fees.
During this time you should have a savings account set up for the dream vacation. You should also have a workable plan for making your dream vacation happen. This plan should be no more than two to three years in length. Shorter is obviously the best method as you never know what can happen.
If you have high credit card debts or any outstanding check loans pay them off first. Research how much it is to get a flight to your dream spot. Find out what current hotel costs are there. Look at the possibility of renting a condo, villa, or other residence with self-catering. You may find your dream spot is affordable if you look outside hotels.
Also during your research consider why you want to go to that particular spot. You may find you can get the same things from another location that is less expensive. For example, Hawaii is a great place to visit, but there are also other Pacific islands which might be more cost effective. Hawaii is a tourist locale, while some of the other islands are just beginning to gain a tourist following. It means things are less costly. If safety is a concern do a little research about this other destination. You may find it is actually safer.
